Primary Care and Inpatient Physician Locums Job in Montana
Assignment Details/Requirements:
-- Need at least two primary care physicians, particularly looking for a provider who is interested in a broad spectrum practice opportunity, but this is not a requirement.
-- Four family physicians on staff have been here for over eight years and up to almost 25 years
-- All do some degree of OB labor and delivery, inpatient medicine, emergency department shifts occasionally, as well as outpatient.
-- There is a lot of back up with full complement of Emergency Department providers, Hospitalists, midwives/OB docs, and a couple NP and PA providers in clinic.
-- Call schedule is roughly 1:4 as back up to midwives and for pediatric admissions and other situations where you may be backing up colleagues. Not frequently called in. No ‘clinic call’ (from patients, etc).
-- The schedule is somewhat variable. Some (prior to the pandemic) had been on a four- 10 hour day schedule, except on weekends when they had call. The remainder are generally on an 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, except on call weekend Friday through Sunday which would give time off during the week before or after.
-- Patient load in clinic averages about 15-20 per day (depending on hours as above)
-- Only 52 Covid cases in the county thus far, many of those within the last month.
-- Reasonably stocked with PPE and have not experienced any shortages to this point. Less critical cases are seen in a separate clinic area for specific possible COVID cases, otherwise primarily in the ED.
-- Support staff includes teams with MA/CNA, RN/LPN. Ancillary services include behavioral health, physical therapy, optometry, dental, pharmacy, lab, radiology (x-ray, ultrasound, CT), community health nurses, a diabetes education department, et al.
-- Hospital has approximately twenty beds, no ICU.
