The UTRGV SOM is seeking a Board Certified physician in Family Medicine with experience in teaching residents both in the inpatient and outpatient clinical setting. In addition, they will participate in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, prepare and provide didactics, participate in the evaluation of the residents, program and preparation for CLER and RRC site visits. While previous experience in a residency program teaching role is preferred, individuals just finishing residency training are highly encouraged to apply.

Up to 22 (12) hour shifts per month including (4) week night calls and (1) weekend call coverage as well as administrative time.
As faculty, they will also administer and maintain a professional educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competencies and in assisting them to reach their individual Milestones.

Interested applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited institution and have or be eligible for a Texas Medical license. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with academic experience and credentials.
