Job Description

Last Update: 12/13/20
Fairfax Health Center is adding Sports Medicine Services to our practice. We are a model for military medicine and we are extremely popular with retired, high ranking military and government civilian staff from the DC metro area. Fairfax Health Center’s access to care, continuity of care, and patient satisfaction outcomes consistently rank at the top of the National Capital Region (in military medicine). Sports Medicine Physicians across the Country are struggling with the volume of daily episodes of care required by their employers to help make the “revenue model” work for their organizations. Reimbursements are such that throughput levels need to be elevated to points that begin to decrease the quality of care physicians can provide. - We offer a practice model that pays very competitively from a patient volume perspective - We offer work/life balance and flexible scheduling - We provide a high quality care environment with clinical outcomes as our priority - Our model is “sheltered” from the revenue and financial pressures (and associated practice hassles) of commercial medicine Job Details: - Full-time, 40 hours per week | Monday through Friday - Focus on providing medical care, not running a business and managing staff - No insurance hassles or bad debt - Supportive environment - Access to specialty services to include pediatrics, radiology, pharmacy and lab - Full complement of benefits to include medical, dental & vision insurance, 401k, life insurance and more - Paid time off and 10 paid Federal Holidays per year Scope of Practice: Sports Medicine is a new specialty for us as we are expanding the practice. Examples of the scope of practice include: - Treatment of sports injuries - Overuse syndromes - Mild to moderate musculoskeletal injury - Concussion (other than TBI) - Rhabdomyolysis - Exercise and weight loss prescriptions - Management of fractures, dislocation, sprains, strains Job Requirements: - Any active state license - Board certification in Family Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine - At least 2 year of experience outside of fellowship program completion - Active BLS certification - Active DEA registration Company Overview: Spectrum Healthcare Resources (SHR) was established in 1988 to deliver systems and processes designed to meet the unique needs of Military and VA Health Systems. SHR is a leading organization that provides physician and clinical staffing and management services to United States Military Treatment Facilities, VA clinics and other Federal Agencies through various contracting vehicles.
