Last Update: 7/14/23

We seek a family medicine/geriatric physician for this charming coastal community. Physicians with J1 and H1b visas are encouraged to apply, both new and experienced doctors are welcome. Join other providers who relocated to this part of the country for the lifestyle, and quality of life both at home and at work. Join the excellent medical staff of this 25-bed acute care hospital using state-of-the art technology. In addition to primary care, this hospital provides inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, gynecologic, and emergency care services, plus specialty care in such areas as orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology, urology, and sleep medicine to name a few. The entire team is deeply committed to quality, patient safety and satisfaction! You will provide outpatient primary care during WEEKDAY BUSINESS HOURS only, with NO call! You will enjoy working in a newly renovated medical building with EMR featuring scenic ocean views and a picturesque walking path just steps away. You can choose either a convenient 4 day/week schedule or 5 shorter days. You will be employed by the hospital, earn an excellent base salary with incentive bonuses, additional cash to help with student loan debts, if applicable, paid relocation, licensing fees, health and dental insurance, liability insurance with tail coverage, PTO, a generous budget for CME, retirement plan with employer matching, and much more! Machias sits on Maine’s rocky coast. This quiet New England town presents a real opportunity for those desiring “the traditional Maine way of life.” Local harbors are dotted with fishing boats, sail boats and other pleasure craft. The town supports several antique shops, art galleries, gift shops, and wonderful restaurants. Students can choose from 4 High schools in the area, and 3 local colleges offer career training and degree programs. Home options include ocean views, lakefront, historic farms, or more surban in-town homes. Known as the “Blueberry Capital of the World,” Machias hosts an annual festival each August. The streets come alive with delicious food, art, crafts, and entertainment for the entire family. Settle in an area known for picturesque views, abundant wildlife, and recreational options in all 4 seasons. "Life the way it should be!"
