POSITION Summary:

We are looking for a Primary Care Physician for our well established facility in Fort Lauderdale. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide regular medical care for patients in a nondiscriminatory manner to Medicare, Medicaid, charity and indigent patients of the Company
  • Diagnose a wide range of illnesses and injuries
  • Participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs in accordance with the policies and guidelines established by the Company for its physicians and employees
  • Care for the whole patient, including mental and emotional needs
  • Preventative care for patients, including regular exams and blood work
  • Coordinate care with other medical professionals and make referrals to medical specialists when necessary
  • Prescribe medication or therapy when necessary
  • Explain test results and provide patients with Plan of Care details
  • Cooperate with, participate in, and comply with the quality assurance, risk management and peer review programs, clinical protocols, treatment guidelines, grievance procedures and utilization control mechanisms
  • To cooperate with the day-to-day supervision of non-physician employees and provide assistance to management staff as appropriate
  • Provide appropriate medical documentation necessary to permit timely, complete and accurate medical billing for each patient
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records
  • Ensure quality of care for all patients

EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIRMENTS/EDUCATION:

  • Board Certified in either family medicine or internal medicine
  • Current and valid FL medical license required
  • Managed care experience with a mostly geriatric population
  • No board sanctions or actions in the last 10 years
  • Excellent bedside manner and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with EHR/EMR preferred - e – clinical experience a huge plus!!!
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to remain compassionate and patient
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
