TeamHealth has an exciting opportunity for a full-time experienced academic emergency medicine physician to lead our team as emergency medicine residency program director at Piedmont Macon Medical Center located in Macon, Georgia. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, administrative, and team-building skills. You will enjoy having complete hospital dedication and financial support for leading a top-quality program. Responsibilities will include clinical teaching and supervision of residents, core program clinical teaching, general administration, GME committees/meetings, GME lecturing/teaching, conferences, GME recruiting/interviewing, GME research/scholarly activity, resident evaluation and mentoring, and program evaluation. Candidates will be board certified in emergency medicine, have previous leadership/administrative experience (i.e. has served as a PD or APD), and have strong administrative and team building skills. Quality candidates will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and must have three years of participation as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited emergency medicine residency program. Piedmont Macon Medical Center Emergency Department (ED) sees an annual volume of 54,000 and features17 ED beds. This is a Level II trauma center. The ED is 24 hours. Specialty facilities include: heart institute, robotics institute, cancer institute, diabetes management center, and more. Candidates with recent scholarly activity such as peer reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publication or presentation of case reports or clinical series at scientific society meetings, or participation in national committees or educations organizations are highly encouraged to apply.
