Emergency Medicine - Assistant Professor or Higher

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) is seeking board certified physicians in the area of emergency medicine to become part of its team of professionals. The TTUHSC El Paso Department of Emergency Medicine staffs the emergency room of University Medical Center El Paso, a Level I trauma center with approximately 60,000 visits annually.

Minimum Qualifications:
• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine.
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.
• Valid unrestricted medical license or eligibility for medical license in Texas.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in teaching residents and medical students.
• Evidence of growth in clinical, teaching, and research activities related to the specialty.
• Knowledge of medical Spanish.
• ACLS/PALS/ATLS certifications.
• Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher.
• Experience or education in ultrasound practices in the settings of emergency medicine with a minimum of 200 documented reviewed scans.

Position Description:
• Supervises residents and medical students in clinical setting.
• Provides performance evaluation, skill testing, and mentoring of residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Provides patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Participates in resident and faculty recruitment.
• Serves as medical control physician for El Paso EMS while on duty in the Emergency Department.
• Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.
• Adheres to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures.
• Attends mandatory training provided and required by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
