Emergency medicine physicians are needed for two affiliated ED's in Eastern Ohio: 1. Level III trauma designated, 150-bed facility with a 14% admission rate - Active EMS system with 37 affiliated squads, medical command and training activities - Volume has been increasing 5-7% every year for the last five years - Emergency department renovations have been completed recently 2. Sister hospital is a 250-bed community teaching hospital with a 19% admission rate - Recently renovated, 17 room department, rectangular layout and central nursing station - Plans being developed for brand new ED in the next several years - Meditech information system available in ED with patient tracking and physician order entry - Broad pathology includes trauma (95% blunt/5% penetrating), center receives 85% of trauma cases in area At both sites there are seven-, eight- and nine-hour shifts; 5-6 shifts per day with double coverage.
