(Archived) Emergency Medicine Teaching Position - El Paso, TX
-MD or DO degree
-Successful completion of ACGME- accredited residency program in emergency medicine.
-Valid unrestricted medical license or eligibility for medical license in Texas.
-Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, or successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Fellowship Program in one of the Emergency Medicine sub- specialties.
-Experience in teaching residents and medical students.
-Evidence of growth in clinical, teaching and research activities related to the specialty.
-Knowledge of Medical Spanish. -ACLS/PALS/ATLS certifications.
-Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher.
-Supervises residents and medical students in clinical setting.
-Provides performance evaluations, skill testing, and mentoring of residents, fellows, and medical students.
-Provides patient care in the Emergency Department.
-Participates in resident and faculty recruitment. -Serves as medical control physician for El Paso EMS while on duty in the Emergency Department.
-Assist Department Chair with implementation of departmental policies and monitoring staffing effectiveness.
-Participates in national emergency medicine societies such as ACEP, SAEM, and AAEM.
-Participates in medical research projects relating to emergency medicine.
-Participates in medical school and hospital committees.
-Assists with development and implementation of special departmental projects.
-Participates in chart audits and other clinical performances improvement efforts.
-Attends and participates in at morbidity-mortality and journal clubs.
-Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicines of Faculty Professional Responsibility.
-Adheres to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures.
-Attends mandatory training provided and required by Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso.
