Envision Physician Services and Cartersville Medical Center are currently seeking a Residency Program Director, to lead in the development and implementation of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program located in the grater Atlanta area.

The Program Director of the Emergency Medicine is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and the general administration of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program sponsored by Cartersville Hospital. The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of the Emergency Medicine residency program. The Program Director is expected to integrate the Emergency Medicine residency program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for graduate medical education. The Program is approved for Six Residents per year, 18 total residents with the First class of PGY1 residents starting July 1, 2020.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated leader to have input on building a program from the ground up. Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor will be commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments. Cartersville’s Emergency Room features one of the area’s busiest ER services with more than 63,000 ER patients treated last year.

Qualified Candidates:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Core Faculty member in an ACGME –accredited Emergency Medicine program
  • Must be clinically active in Emergency Medicine
  • Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine physician
  • Have previous leadership / administrative experience
  • Be willing to combine Administrative and Diagnostic (teaching) Responsibilities (50/50)
  • Have strong administrative and team building skills
