Description: Our client, an academic medical center, is currently seeking an Emergency Medicine Attending. The Emergency Medicine Attending will focus on providing high quality patient care as part of a healthcare team. The Emergency Medicine Attending will work on average 34 hours per week, usually 3 shifts per week, with a maximum of 4 shifts. The Emergency Medicine Attending will perform medical procedures within the scope of practice. Excellent benefits are offered to the Emergency Medicine Attending.
Responsibilities: Treat patients who present to the Emergency Room and makes sure that the patient being attended to is stabilized before the commencement of further treatment. Prescribe medications and treatments Evaluate and manage emergency patients that are brought in for treatment Maintain and keep all medical records Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities Provide training Emergency Medicine Residents rotating through the Emergency Department Stabilize the patient promptly with the available resources, information about the patient and examination of the patient in every given situation. Perform interpretation of diagnostic tests within the scope of practice and reviews all medical reports concerning patients Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals and provides instructions for discharge for patients Assess patient health through interviews and physical examinations Appropriately communicate with available personal, supervises residents, physician assistants, and medical students assigned to the ED.
Educational Requirements: ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible required (Candidates completing EM Residency in June 2019 are welcome to apply) Advanced knowledge of treatment and drug interactions
