PLACE OF PERFORMANCE:

The Professional shall provide Emergency Room Physician services in support of WACH, Ft. Stewart, GA. Performance under this contract may be required in alternate locations on the installation.

SPECIFIC TASKS:

  1. Examines, diagnoses, stabilizes, and treats, urgent and emergent conditions.
  2. Prepares and reviews case histories and clinical records. Medical records must be completed prior to the completion of the contract provider’s shift.
  3. Examines patients and determines requirements for clinical laboratory, radiologic, and other testing.
  4. Interprets test results and evaluates examination findings. Prescribes treatment, including procedures as deemed necessary.
  5. Manages emergency services. Formulates plans and procedures for emergency services.
  6. Coordinates emergency services with other medical activities. Uses consultants in other specialties as appropriate.
  7. Provides consultative advice to clinical rotators and residents in methods and procedures for diagnosis and treatment of emergency conditions.
  8. Performs and documents appropriately emergency procedures required to treat emergency conditions to include, but not limited to, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, central line placement, ultrasound procedures, incision and drainage, suturing of wounds, and chest tube placement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Shall have satisfactorily completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at an American Emergency Medicine residency program and been awarded a diploma for satisfactory completion of said residency.
  • Shall have successfully completed an Emergency Medicine training program that is accredited in the United States. May have been trained in a branch of military and been honorably discharged.
  • Shall have current medical board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Shall have and maintain ACLS and PALS, in addition to BLS.
  • Shall have a minimum of one year experience within the past three years, working as an Emergency Medicine Physician.
  • Mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination required. Required to obtain annual seasonal influenza vaccinations by the due date provided by the COR.
