Wapiti Medical Staffing is seeking a physician (MD or DO) for Emergency Department coverage in Decorah, located in northeast Iowa near the Minnesota and Wisconsin borders.
Wapiti covers malpractice insurance, offers flexible scheduling, and provides travel assistance for locum assignments. Bring us your skills, experience, and passion. We’ ll take care of the rest.
PHYSICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES / FACILITY DETAILS
- Locum tenens ER physician (MD or DO) needed through summer/fall 2022 with PRN needs after that.
- 12-hour shifts available; flexible scheduling
- Trauma level IV
- Volume averages 24-31 pts per 24 hrs
- EMR: EPIC
- Timeline to credential is approximately 60 days
PHYSICIAN REQUIREMENTS
- Iowa state medical license and DEA/CSR
- Board certified or eligible ABFM/AOBFP or ABEM or AOBEM (must have completed a three-year residency); ABPS certification is not accepted
- Will consider third-year EM residents. Residents will require a professional reference from their program director as well as case logs for the past 12 months to show evidence of experience.
- Required life support certifications include ATLS, ACLS, PALS; For ABEM/AOBEM physicians, will waive ATLS, ACLS, PALS, (must show proof of ATLS obtained once)
- Influenza shot required during flu season; COVID vaccine required or must complete religious/medical exemption form
