About the Position/Department
The UTMB Department of Dermatology, the first Department of Dermatology in the state of Texas and seeks a faculty Dermatologist at the Assistant Professor level. The Department of Dermatology has a long history of excellence in patient care, in the training of residents and fellows as well as the training of medical school and allied health students. The department has 11 faculty, 12 residents and 2 fellows. The purpose of this faculty position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching and patient care needs of the Department of Dermatology and assist in fulfilling UTMB’s mission. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care as a Dermatologist, including general dermatology, consults, outpatient and inpatient services. In addition, this position will participate in teaching, mentoring, supervising and evaluation activities with residents, medical students, house staff, nursing and allied health student.
Income Package: A negotiable income package is offered based upon level of Academic experience. We also offer a superior benefits and retirement program along with relocation and other incentives.
Position Requirements
MD or DO degree, one to two years of Dermatology experience is preferred, good interpersonal and verbal communication skills and demonstrated comfort working in a large public facility/entity. Board certification and the ability to obtain a Texas state medical board license.
