Intensivist Opportunity - Abilene, TX (North Central Texas w/ Regular Flights to DFW)

Pittsburgh Critical Care Associates (PCCA) , a private practice intensivist group is hiring intensivists to work at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
  • Hendrick Medical Center is a 340-bed Regional Medical Center and Level III Trauma Center
  • 24-bed Medical Surgical ICU
  • Intensivists cover days 7am to 7pm
  • APP’s cover days 7am to 7pm and nights 7pm to 7am
  • PCCA supports the refined multidisciplinary MD/APP intensivist team model of care to provide expanded critical care services. The Intensivist in collaboration with the APP’s function as intensivist teams
JOB DESCRIPTION
The medical surgical intensive care unit is staffed and managed by PCCA and operates as a true intensivist program, with the intensivist serving as head of the multidisciplinary team overseeing and managing all the M/ICU patients, and working closely with surgeons, emergency physicians, pulmonary medicine physicians, hospitalists and support staff.

PROGRAM MODEL

The intensivist service provides 24-hour coverage in the M/SICU. Intensivist physicians work a 7-day block of 12- hour dayshifts 7am to 7pm with support provided by daytime APP's. At 7pm the intensivist and daytime APP's sign out to the night APP's who cover until 7am.

INTENSIVIST SCHEDULE

  • The Intensivist will work two weeks a month, 26 weeks a year
  • A week of days, Monday through Sunday (7am to 7pm) A week off
  • A week of days, Monday through Sunday (7am to 7pm) A week off
** A one week a month, 14 week a year schedule option also available

  • Abilene is a mid-sized city of 120,000, in North Central Texas. It is located 150 miles west of Fort Worth.
  • Abilene is home to Dyess Air Force Base and the 7th Bomb Wing.
  • Abilene Regional Airport, is serviced by American Airlines and provides competitive airfares from Abilene to DFW International

COMPENSATION

The Intensivists will be employees of Pittsburgh Critical Care Associates, Inc private physician group. Full-time Intensivists receive a comprehensive benefits package, including malpractice and health insurance, employer-contributed retirement funds with 401K option and reimbursable CME. The salary is nationally competitive.
