About this role: This position is responsible for the remote, emergent medical assessment and care of patients by collaborating with onsite medical staff and providing telehealth triage and treatment decisions. This position also provides on-call responsibilities as assigned. What you bring to the table: Education:
  • Medical doctorate (MD) from an accredited university.

Experience:

  • Two (2) years post residency clinical experience in emergency medicine preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Licensed in the state of employment.
  • Must be willing to add licenses in states where services are requested.
  • Holding additional licenses is a benefit.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications.
  • Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine.
What you will do:
  • Rapidly responds to telehealth calls and remotely assesses patients' physical and acute psychiatric health to determine triage and treatment decisions.
  • Collaborates with onsite medical staff to facilitate physical and acute psychiatric examinations, lab evaluations, x-rays and EKG, as needed.
  • Provides outside referrals as indicated.
  • Ensures accurate and thorough documentation of all assessment.
  • Provides clinical oversight of assessment and reassessment, ongoing provision of care activities, and completion of all associated documentation by ARNPs.
  • Provides on-call coverage for after-hours care of patients.
  • Treats medical problems including pharmacotherapy.
  • Makes referrals for tests and consultations and follows-up on results and recommendations.
  • Provides education on the medical diagnoses to patients and onsite medical staff.
  • Collaborates and communicates with staff in other disciplines in an effective and professional manner.
  • Understands and complies with special precautions, disaster and fire safety procedures, and abuse reporting.
  • Is knowledgeable about care and treatment needs of patients of different ages. Provides individualized care and treatment that is consistent with/sensitive to the age and life span developmental needs of each patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
