A general Cardiologist is sought for ongoing Locums coverage with a rural medical center located 2.5 hours to Detroit. This hospital providers a wide variety of diagnostic cardiac and vascular tests and procedures including exercise, pharmacologic and nuclear stress tests; echocardiograms (EKGs); Holter and cardiac event monitoring; peripheral vascular studies including venous, arterial and carotid doppler exams; diagnostic cardiac catheterization; and device implants including loop recorders, pacemakers and defibrillators. Should more advanced treatment become necessary, larger affiliated medical center one hour away provides streamlined access to a full range of interventional procedures like angioplasty and stenting, structural heart procedures like TAVR and Watchman, as well as open heart surgery.
Details:
-Monday through Friday 8a-5p
-Provider will see patients in the outpatient setting as well as consult in the hospital located steps from the clinic.
-There is the ability to do diagnostic caths if desired but not required
-Must be able to do TEE and TTE Interpretations.
-Full Patient Panel to adopt as soon as the provider can start- this will be an ongoing need until position is filled.
-Orientation required one day prior to first shift
-Credentialing 30-90 days or more
Requirements:
-Completion of MD/DO program from approved Medical School
-Cardiology Fellowship Training
-Board Certification/Board Eligibility within 5 years
-No to little medical malpractice history
-Credentialing Requirements: Must demonstrate they have provided inpatient or consultative services to at least 50 patients within the last 12 months and at least 10 outpatients within the last 12 months is preferred.
This is a locum tenens/1099 position offering competitive pay to be discussed directly with candidate. Travel reimbursement for airfare, lodging, rental car and or/mileage will be provided as well as complimentary medical malpractice coverage.
