Job Description & Requirements
Academic Cardiology Physician
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University is conducting an international search for a full-time academic advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist in the Medical Center Line.

The major criterion for appointment in the Medical Center Line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical/translational research, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

We are seeking candidates who have a track record of academic excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and a history of scholarly activity that advances clinical/translational research. Applicants should be capable of conducting independent research in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, teaching residents and fellows, and will play a role in advancing the overall mission in the Section of Heart Failure, Cardiac Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support. Clinical responsibilities would include participation in the care of patients with heart failure as well as those who have had mechanical support and cardiac transplantation. Faculty rank and leadership role will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidates. Prior success competing for competitive research awards is highly desirable. Chosen individuals will be part of the high-volume Section of Heart Failure, Cardiac Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support at Stanford University

Stanford’s transplant and heart failure programs have grown clinical volumes consistently over the past years, completing over 70 heart transplants and over 40 VAD procedures in 2017. It is anticipated that the program will continue to expand as the new hospital campus opens in 2018, which will increase the capacity for growth. The robust clinical program has contributed to a thriving advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship program and numerous basic, clinical, and translational research opportunities within the section.

Stanford is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Stanford also welcomes applications from others who would bring additional dimensions to the University’s research, teaching and clinical missions.[Register to View] Qualifications
