The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine seeks to fill a professor, tenure-track faculty position with an established cardiovascular researcher with familiarity with clinical Emergency Medicine. The candidate will assist the Department of Emergency Medicine in developing junior faculty and basic science faculty in their research skills, scholarship and grantsmanship.
This is a full time position at the Professor level. The candidate will be expected to obtain external funding in support of his/her own CV research program. This will include scholarship, manuscript publication, grantsmanship and management, analysis and interpretation of data. In addition the successful candidate will lead the basic science faculty in helping them conceptualize, plan and write grant proposals to obtain funding, write and prepare manuscripts, articles and reports for publication; and develop skills in study design and research methodology. The goals for this position are to increase the quantity and quality of basic science research originating from the Department both from other investigators and the candidate.
Requirements: Candidates should have a PhD degree with a proven track record of externally funded CV research. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, as is a record of peer-reviewed publications in scholarly journals. Excellent collaborative abilities and a proven ability to work well with students, faculty and administrative teams are required.
