Cookeville, TN - Opening for a 5th Interventional Cardiologist and 2nd Electrophysiologist
Tennessee Heart is a 11 physician cardiology practice providing exclusive contracted Cardiology services to Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC). Cookeville is located 1.5 hours from Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga Tennessee. We are the only tertiary Cardiology program for a 14 county area known as the Upper Cumberland region. We are the sole STEMI referral center and provide the overwhelming majority of Cardiology services in this area. CRMC’s 3 cardiac surgeons provide high quality coronary bypass and valve surgery program. Our Cardiac Surgeons have been supportive of our TAVR program which was forged by our fellowship trained structural interventionist.
Our interventional Cardiology program provides a full range of coronary and structural heart services including TAVR and PFO closure with mitral clip and appendage closure soon to follow. The coronary interventions provided include complex coronary intervention including CTO intervention. We provide advanced peripheral interventional services including peripheral atherectomy and pedal access procedures.
Our Electrophysiology program has a dedicated EP laboratory with an active program in atrial fibrillation, SVT and Ventricular arrhythmia ablation as well as device implantation. Electrophysiology candidates should have extensive training and/or experience in atrial fibrillation ablation.
Cookeville is a suburban middle class community and the home of Tennessee Tech University. There is a strong public school system offering an international baccalaureate degree at the high school and opportunities for private education. The upper Cumberland provides a rich variety of outdoor activities including golf, hiking and boating. The local economy is diverse including retail, manufacturing and farming. The State has identified this area as the next major growth area in Tennessee. The hospital is owned by the City, has been financially sound and enjoys tremendous support from the community. CRMC is a member of the Vanderbilt Affiliated Health Network which contracts to provide health care to large businesses across the State of Tennessee.
