  • Weekday Shift types:
    • 8 or 10hr daytime in-house call shifts
    • 24hr OB CALL = 24hr in-house OB coverage and overnight OR
        • The position covers OB 7a-10p and both OB and OR 10p – 7a with a 2nd provider on back-up call
        • During the day shift, the OB provider manages the pre-op prep for the patients going to surgery that day and acts as a resource to the pre-admit staff who are screening future patients
        • Can be scheduled to cover only 7p-7a if that is desired & could cover several nights if a row if desired
    • 24hr OR CALL = 24hr responsibility shift plus back-up call
        • Longest OR then back-up call from 10p to 7a
        • 1st-off the next day
  • Weekend shifts:
    • Weekends covered by 3 physicians
      • 1 provider each day OR CALL = 7a – approx 8 hrs doing OR cases (usually 1 person covers this shift both days)
      • 1 provider each day OB DAY = 7a – approx 6p covers OB and backs up OR; relieved at 6p by NIGHT CALL; remains on-call as back-up to 7a (usually 1 person covers this shift both days)
      • 1 provider each day NIGHT CALL = 6p – 7a in house OB & OR coverage (usually 1 person covers this shift both days). Has post call Monday day off
  • Clinical Details
    • General, OB, GI, ENT, GYN, ortho, vascular, thoracic, urology, plastics, ophthalmology
    • EMR: Cerner
    • No trauma service to cover
    • 190 Beds
    • Number of OR in hospital: 6 ORs - 5 surgical and 1 OB
    • On average, hospital does 90 deliveries per month, with 2-4 epidurals on the weekend
    • Call room at the hospital to sleep in
  • Requirements
    • Must be board certified or in the exam system within 5 years of residency/fellowship
