Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida is currently seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join its growing Cardiac Center. Candidates seeking a unique opportunity to help build an already strong cardiovascular surgery practice in Central Florida are encouraged to apply. This is an opportunity to join a team of clinicians dedicated to advancing the care for the pediatric cardiac patient supported by a hospital system dedicated to the integrated care of this population.

Dr. Peter Wearden, Chair of Nemours Cardiac Center in Florida and Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery opened the Center in 2015 and has expanded his team to include 15 cardiologists, dedicated cardiac intensivists, interventional cardiologists, advanced practice providers, dedicated nursing staff, an electrophysiologist, and a Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.

Academic appointments are available to a number of academic institutions including Florida State, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida and Florida Polytech based on academic interest of the applicant. There are also outstanding research opportunities, both clinical and laboratory based through both Nemours and its academic affiliates. Candidates interested in outcomes research would enjoy Nemours’ clinical volume and available collaborative enterprise institutional database.

Education/Certifications/Licensure

• Current Board certification/eligibility by the American Board of Anesthesiology with a subspecialty certification in pediatric anesthesiology; possess a valid Florida medical license; and qualified to hold an appointment to the Medical Staff of Nemours Children’s Hospital, Orlando.

• Candidates must have experience with treatment of the pediatric cardiac patient with fellowship training in pediatric cardiac anesthesia and/or extensive clinical experience preferred.
