A healthcare facility in Brooklyn is actively seeking a dynamic and compassionate professional to join their staff as their new Director of Nursing and Advanced Practice Providers of the Cancer Center. In this role, the Director of Nursing and Advanced Practice Providers of the Cancer Center will direct the clinical and administrative functions at the Cancer Center to ensure high quality, effective patient care and effective use of labor and non-labor resources.

Responsibilities

The Director of Nursing and Advanced Practice Providers of the Cancer Center will:

  • Select, hire, and supervise Nurse Managers and Assistant Nurse Managers, NP and PAs, and all frontline staff in the department
  • Initiate disciplinary action, including terminations
  • Make recommendation for training opportunities and promotions
  • Conduct divisional and leadership staff meetings to review patient care issues
  • Provide/communicate information to members of the healthcare and senior management team on a variety of clinical/administrative matters
  • Act as liaison with medical staff and other departments
  • Ensure regulatory compliance throughout the Cancer Center

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
  • 5+ years of clinical and administrative experience in a relevant clinical area
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Clinical nursing skills and expertise
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills
