Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Flight Medicine Physician at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida. This contract position offers: - Outpatient Clinic - Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:30 pm (40 hrs. per week) - No nights, No weekends, no Holidays - No On Call - Freedom from Malpractice Insurance Worries Job Duties: Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF. Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities. Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges. Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling. Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated. Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. Requirements: The Flight Surgeon will have the following requirements: - Any State License - Successful completion of an accredited Aerospace Medicine Residency and served as an Air Force Chief of Aerospace is preferred but physicians having served in a flight medicine billet for at least 1 year may be acceptable if approved by the Chief of Aerospace Medicine. Other Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian trained Flight Surgeons may be considered, but require Chief of Aerospace Medicine approval - BLS/ACLS - Current board certification by one of the following boards: the American Board of Preventive Medicine (Aerospace Medicine and/or Occupational Medicine), the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Emergency Medicine, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, or board certified by the American Osteopathic Association through the American Osteopathic Board of Preventive Medicine.
