SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00am to 5:00pm
- No Nights or Weekends
- Minimal On-Call Duties


COMPENSATION:
- $260,000 to $290,000 Base Salary, dependent upon experience

COMPANY PROFILE:
This thriving, state-licensed, community health center opened in 2011 and, today, employs 19 physicians across a variety of specialties - pediatrics, ob/gyn, infectious disease, orthopedics, behavioral health, podiatry, and pain management, as well as full-scope primary care. They operate 4 convenient clinic locations with a robust support staff of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other clinical and administrative team members.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Chief Medical Officer is a key member of the senior executive team, engaged in defining the overall business strategy and direction of the organization. The CMO also provides medical oversight, expertise, and leadership to ensure the delivery of affordable quality, trauma-informed, patient centered healthcare services. Responsibilities also include the strategy, development, and implementation of innovative clinical programs that include collaboration with strategic business partners.

The CMO will have 30-40 percent administrative time and 60-70 percent clinic time.

Physicians see 16 to 24 patients per day in the clinic, with the support of a dedicated clinical assistant.

Specific duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

- lead and implement the clinical direction for the organization
- champion the quality measures (UDS & HEDIS)
- keep abreast of emerging models in healthcare delivery
- identify and define new and innovative strategies to achieve organization goals and objectives
- identify opportunities to collaborate and develop clinical integration opportunities with others
- assist with the process and maintaining standards for health management and credentialing
- establish, monitor, and improve the standards of care
- identify performance benchmarks and present the results to executive management
- assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for clinical staff and services
- review provider productivity, performance, and clinical measures
- when needed, discuss areas of improvement with providers
- oversee quality management, quality improvement, compliance, and credentialing committees
- conduct provider performance reviews
- participate in business and clinical strategy development and implementation
- build and leverage cross-functional collaborative relationships to achieve center goals
- promote collaboration to both internal and external healthcare team members
- develop and implement strategic goals
- assist with analytics and development of quality measures for new payment models

The practice uses the Epic EHR.

On-call duties are minimal / infrequent and consist of phone triage only.


REQUIREMENTS:
- California medical license
- DEA
- Board Certified, relevant field
- 5+ years clinical practice experience
- knowledge of managed healthcare systems, quality improvement, and risk management
- demonstrated success in population health or related programs
- Spanish language skills preferred, not required
