Job Description

Our client is seeking an Addiction Medicine Physician to serve as the medical director of their outpatient addiction treatment clinic—which mainly specializes in methadone-based treatments of opioid dependency. If you are looking for a part-time position that will allow you the flexibility to spend more time doing what you love, while at the same time allowing you to render life-changing care to your patients, then this position is for you. As the medical director, you will oversee the clinic’s budget, implement clinic improvement plans, supervise the clinic’s medical staff, and ensure that the clinic meets all federal and state laws regarding dispensing and storing medication. This position is also in a great location, Akron, a growing city with a burgeoning art scene, exciting night life, and affordable real-estate market.

Details:

  • Part-time, locum position
  • 14-20 hours per week
  • Administer and supervise all medical services
  • Draft and implement facility policies and procedures
  • Manage facility planning and budgeting of medical services
  • Assess patients physical and mental health and develop an individualized plan of care
  • Administer urine screens, toxicology, and other drug testing procedures
  • Evaluate newly admitted patients state of dependence and possible need for Methadone
  • Ensure that the clinic meets all federal and state laws regarding dispensing and storing medication
  • Ensure that all pharmacists and dosing nurses dispensing practices comply with state, federal, and CARF regulations

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in either Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry
  • DEA certification
  • Valid Ohio medical license
  • CPR, First Aid, and BLS certified
