Job Description

The primary focus of the Physician is to provide high quality patient care under direct supervision of the Medical Director.

Details:

  • Locum position
  • 12 hours methadone per week, 2 hours suboxone per week
  • Daily on-call after leaving the facility and weekend mornings while dosing
  • Coordinate and integrate medical services to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide physical exams and assessments for clients
  • Participate in the development of treatment plans for clients
  • Provide mental health status examinations upon admission or as needed
  • Order and review lab work
  • Provide medical/clinical in-service trainings as needed to ensure on-going growth
  • Initiate orders for appropriate treatment
  • Participate in the referral process for care outside the facility when appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with signing verbal orders
  • Ensure clients consent to treatment is voluntary
  • Determine current physical dependence and addiction to establish treatment eligibility
  • Ensure justification is recorded in the client record for reducing frequency of clinic visits for observed drug ingesting
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, families, physicians, and staff members
  • Monitor the professional competence of the medical staff members providing care for clients and maintain a professional working relationship with the Medical Director
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of a system of client care evaluation
  • Participate in on-going education and training in chemical dependence

Qualifications

  • Board Certified Addiction Medicine
  • Valid Pennsylvania medical license
  • Maintain continuing education credits as required by the medical board
  • Current DEA registration
  • CPR, First Aid, and BLS certified
