A healthcare group in Springfield, MO is seeking an Addiction Medicine specialist that is certified by the American Society of Addition Medicine or the American Board of Addiction Medicine. 3 yrs of hospital experience treating patients with alcohol withdrawal and familiarity with alcohol withdrawal protocols preferred. Must be able to acquire waiver for prescribing Buprenorphine to patients with opioid dependence.

Will be taking call from Emergency department and admitting patients to medical surgical units for management of withdrawal and related medical issues/complications. Weekdays and every other weekend coverage of such duties. Provide consultative services to other physicians on their patients who present with substance abuse/ withdrawal issues. Other duties are seeing patients in outpatient clinic at the Center for Addictions to conduct history and physicals on all assigned patients and provide routine medical care /supervision of said patients including medication management. Providing an hour of group education weekly to patient population in outpatient substance abuse program, and attending weekly clinical staffing with treatment team for assigned patient population in outpatient program setting. Working in tandem with medical director of the Center for Addictions to assure coverage of all patients.
