CoxHealth seeks an addiction medicine specialist certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine or the American Board of Addiction Medicine for an outpatient clinic opportunity at our Center for Addictions, which is a member of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation Patient Care Network.

  • Flexible outpatient schedule – no evenings, no weekends, no call time

  • Well established clinic, serving the community since 1984

  • Support from an experienced team of professionals including a medical director, program director, licensed psychologist, licensed therapists, nurses and other support staff

Duties will include:

  • Conducting history and physical assessments on all assigned patients

  • Providing routine medical care and supervision of patients including medication management

  • Providing one hour of group education weekly to patients enrolled in the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs

  • Providing consultative services to other physicians in the hospital setting whose admitted patients present with substance abuse or withdrawal issues

The ability to acquire SAMHSA waiver for prescribing buprenorphine to patients with opioid dependence is required. Experience in a hospital setting treating patients with alcohol withdrawal and familiarity with alcohol withdrawal protocols is preferred.
