Psychiatrist/ Addiction Medicine Physician Van Nuys (LA) , CA

We are seeking a Board-Certified physician in Addiction Medicine and/or Psychiatry, to join our growing practice full time in Van Nuys, CA. Ideally, the incoming physician has experience managing patients at all levels of care (hospital, residential, IOP, and clinic), is DATA 2000 waivered for 275 patients to prescribe buprenorphine and can manage common psychiatric co-occurring disorders. We would prefer a physician who is computer/EMR savvy, has several years of experience with Addiction Medicine and/or Psychiatry, and has a true understanding of the recovery process that our patients go through.

Recognizing, researching, and understanding the many new medication treatments that have been emerging, we have successfully incorporated treatments into our hospital inpatient detox program as well as into private practice. We continue to be on the leading edge of providing medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders and have successfully helped thousands of patients find new ways to break their cycle of addiction. Our professional staff includes social workers, therapists, and physicians.

Primary job duties:

  • Assess and oversee patients in treatment for substance abuse disorders
  • Patient Evaluations- H&P with bio-psycho-social assessment, review questionnaires and standard assessments
  • Regularly reeval the patients to ensure continued compliance with treatments and progress
  • Prescribe appropriate medication for detox treatment, buprenorphine medication assisted treatment (MAT), Vivitrol and Sublocade injections, and management of withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and co-occurring mental health symptoms
  • Collaborate with the other treating physicians and office support staff for comprehensive patient care
  • Documentation- timely and accurate (EMR)
  • Patient care via telehealth, clinic visits, with on call coverage of residential treatment center and/or hospital admissions

Requirements:

  • MD/DO licensed to practice in CA
  • BC in Addiction Medicine and/or Psychiatry
  • Familiarity with ASAM placement criteria
  • DATA 2000 waivered for 275 patients
  • Computer/EMR savvy
  • Several years of experience with Addiction Medicine and/or Psychiatry preferred

Schedule:

  • Full time
  • Clinic hours are 9-5, with on call coverage of residential treatment center and/or hospital admissions

Salary:

  • $150+/hr to start (DOE and skill)
