A services organization on Long Island is currently seeking a new Talent Acquisition Specialist for a promising opportunity with their growing Human Resources Department. In this role, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for coordinating the recruitment process of all new staff and staff transitioning to new role.

Responsibilities:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist:
  • Partners with Hiring Manager to determine staffing needs; processes job requisitions and coordinates multi-management level approval for all newly added positions
  • Coordinates with hiring manager to determine best recruiting process for position
  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, and makes recommendations for hire (or not hire)
  • Acts as liaison with area employment agencies, advertising agencies and local schools
  • Maintains employee referral program
  • Assists in New Hire Orientation of new employees
  • Completes bi-weekly report on employment activity
  • Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates
  • Manages internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
  • Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals
  • Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Manages application/resume file and retention according to company policy
  • Assists with documentation and communication on policy and procedure
  • Supports fundraising efforts and ideas; assists in the planning of the holiday/employee appreciation party as well as other events
  • Assists with the creation and reviews job description and annual salary research and review for all positions
  • Performs other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Talent Acquisition experience
  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
  • Computer and Social Media savvy
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient
  • Exceptional phone etiquette
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
