Physician – Hematology / Oncology West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology/Oncology and the WVU Cancer Institute are seeking a Physician – Hematology/Oncology qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, West Virginia. Enrollment of patients in clinical and translational research is a core institutional value supported by an excellent cancer clinical trials unit. Development of disease focused clinical and translational research within an individual faculty member’s area of clinical focus is also encouraged, and start-up support is available through the Cancer Institute and the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute for qualified applicants. Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of hematology/oncology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program. Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology or oncology fellowship and be board certified/eligible in oncology at the time of appointment. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. The WVU Cancer Institute is one of the country’s top USNWR rated cancer treatment centers.
