The Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and the School of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University are committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and clinical and basic research. The Children’s Hospital Foundation Heart Center is a rapidly growing enterprise with a growing referral base which provides comprehensive care to pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease, adults with congenital heart disease and expertise in fetal cardiology. Our new state-of-the-art outpatient on-campus facility opened in March 2016 and new neonatal and pediatric intensive care units opened in March 2018.
Requirements:
We are seeking a cardiologist with board certification in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at the assistant or associate professor level to fill a non-tenure eligible position. The candidate will focus on the organization, growth and care of the adult congenital heart disease program with secondary participation in the other activities of the Pediatric Heart Center. There are excellent opportunities for continued collaboration with the adult cardiology and cardiosurgical programs. Candidates should possess outstanding clinical, organizational and leadership skills.
Candidates are expected to participate in the educational endeavors of the Division that supports active fellowship programs in pediatric and adult cardiology. Research productivity is expected. Candidates should be eager to join in a major dynamic effort to create a superior academic pediatric cardiology division, in a collegial atmosphere and in a wonderful mid-Atlantic city, large enough to support all the best of a major urban setting, and small enough to be friendly and communal.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member.
