The Department of Emergency Medicine at Brandon Regional Hospital, in collaboration with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, is seeking Emergency Medicine Core Faculty to join our team as a Research Director and Simulation Director.

Qualified candidates must be BC/BP in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) and having completed a fellowship in Research or Simulation. Core Faculty will participate in the clinical and educational programs that will shape the emergency medicine residency program. Brandon Regional Hospital's residency programs include Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatric Pharmacy, Surgical and Transitional Year.

Brandon Regional Hospital, located in Brandon, Florida, is an HCA West Florida hospital, is the flagship facility for the West Florida Division of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). As the fifth busiest ER in Florida, Brandon Regional Hospital serves approximately 120,000 patients each year. To keep up with patient demand and needs, the hospital allocated $60M to a multi-phase expansion. The completed project includes 40 new exam rooms, including areas for express care, pediatrics and behavioral health.

ED Features:

  • Volume – 120K (20% of this is Peds, worked by separate ED/Peds Physician)

Brandon Regional Hospital is a 438-bed full service acute care tertiary teaching hospital, which employs over 2000 Employees, 240 volunteers, 640 Physicians, & 20 Medical Residents. The facility is certified by The Joint Commission in 5 disease specific programs: Primary Stroke, AMI, HF, CABG, Hip & Knee. Chest Pain Center with PCI accreditation and A Fib Center of Excellence by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. This acute care medical facility is also an approved DCF Baker Act receiving facility as well as honors by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons as a three-star facility.

Other key services include a Women’s Center with Level III NICU; pediatric ER, pediatrics and PICU; Heart and Vascular Center; Behavioral Health; Florida Bariatrics Centers; Neuroscience, Orthopedics and Spine centers. The hospital is a Joint Commission Top Performer on Key Quality Measures; accredited Chest Pain Center; Highest 3 Star Heart Surgery rating (STS); Advanced Primary Stroke Center; Bariatric Center of Excellence (ASMBS); accredited Echocardiography Lab (ICAEL), certified Afib Center (SCPC) and accredited Breast Center (NAPBC). Additionally, the hospital has earned several Joint Commission disease specific certifications.

Additional specialty services include a Heart & Vascular Center, a Behavioral Health Center, a Women's Center (which includes a 22-bed neonatal intensive care unit), and a designated Bariatric Center of Excellence.
