Major/Essential Functions
- Provides inpatient pediatrics care at El Paso Children's Hospital
- Provides coverage of Intermediate Care or Level II nursery at El Paso Children's Hospital and delivery room (University Medical Center)
- Prescribes and administers medicine
- Provides any additional in-hospital services
- Provides hospital quality improvement initiates and participates in hospital outreach activities
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
- Demonstrates Professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
- Participates in the education of Medical students and residents of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine

Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)
- Successful completion of an ACGME Pediatric Hospitalist Fellowship Program
- Sub Board certification by the ABP in Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine
- Experience in teaching students and residents
- Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher

Required Qualifications
- M.D./D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree
- Successful completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program
- Eligible to obtain the Texas State Medical License
- Certified/ or eligible for certification by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) in Pediatrics
