The UTRGV School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry seeks a Psychiatrist to serve as Chief Medical Officer for Palms Behavioral Health. The chosen candidate will be awarded academic appointment commensurate with experience and credentials in the UTRGV School of Medicine. This position is specifically responsible for improving clinical outcome and treatment effectiveness and increasing overall cost-effectiveness of care. Individual awarded this position will provide leadership for the Hospital’s entire patient care activities. Inclusive of Philosophy of Care, Quality Management, Educational Programming, Research and Development and Community Relations, serve on the Hospital’s governing Board.

Applicants must be BC/BE in Psychiatry, possess or be eligible for a Texas medical license, qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry UTRGV School of Medicine and appropriate hospital staff appointments. Demonstration of strong leadership skills and commitment to the education of residents and medical students is essential.
