Job Description

Last Update: 2/04/19

The Department of Pediatrics’ Division at the University of Nevada Reno, School of Medicine seeks candidates for a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist position. We are seeking an individual who will combine clinical care with teaching and research, relevant to pediatric endocrinology. The exact amount of protected time for teaching and research is negotiable, likely between 0.2 and 0.4 FTE. Salary and rank are dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The Pediatric Endocrinology program (part of the Division of Pediatric Medical Sub-specialties of the Department of Pediatrics) provides services for endocrine system disorders in patients 18 years and younger. The department currently consists of one Board certified pediatric endocrinologist and a full time pediatric endocrinology NP. While the appointment will be through the Department of Pediatrics at UNR Med, the program itself is an integral part of Renown Children’s Hospital.

Duties include providing care to children in relation to sub-specialty. This position requires excellent clinical and teaching skills and experience necessary to precept and evaluate medical students. The University of Nevada Reno, School of Medicine is affiliated with the Renown Children’s Hospital and the Renown Health Medical Group in Reno, NV. All Pediatric faculty members share call and weekend/holiday coverage. The incumbent will also be expected to participate in healthcare education (medical students, PA students, NP students) and support clinical research.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have an MD or DO degree and be board-certified/board-eligible in pediatric endocrinology. A Fellowship in Endocrinology is required. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted NV medical license, malpractice insurance and must be able to be successfully credentialed by Northern Nevada teaching hospitals and facilities.

Research Interest

There are exciting opportunities to be a part of UNR Med’s growing research and leadership activities. Candidates who wish to pursue research endeavors are encouraged to apply.
