University of Maryland's Department of Emergency Medicine is deeply committed to advancing the practice of emergency medicine through research. On the faculty are several physicians who have gained considerable experience in designing research studies, compiling grant applications, and identifying sources of financial support. They freely share their expertise with new investigators and experienced researchers looking for collaborators.

We are currently seeking experienced funded researchers (NIH preferred) to join our department. We have strong on-campus relationships with the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, the National Study Center for Trauma and Emergency Medical Systems, and the Department of Neurology. We also have established partnerships with other medical schools and local hospitals.
