We have an exciting opportunity for a Neurologist to work in Fort Campbell, Kentucky at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. Below is a summary of the responsibilities, required education, experience and skills we’re looking for in the best-fit candidate for this highly desirable opportunity.

Schedule (Days/Hours): 40 hours a week; Monday through Friday (five-8 hour days per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Prescribe and dispense medications as indicated by the diagnosis and medical condition, provide definitive
  • Treatment of patients shall be performed at the MTF except in unusual instances when patients are referred to other institutions for performance of special diagnostic procedures or definitive care not offered at the MTF.
  • Diagnose and treat disorders of the nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves) and muscles to include but not limited to the following: stroke, tumors, muscular dystrophy, headache and other pain, meningitis, encephalitis, epilepsy, Parkinson disease, Alzheimer disease and other memory disorders, multiple sclerosis.
  • Supervises, interprets and reports on electroencephalograms, electromyograms and nerve conduction studies.
  • Performs all procedures as required and expected of a neurologist with similar level of training, to include lumbar punctures.
  • Use the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and AHLTA for ordering ancillary services and performing required patient record functions at the discretion of the MTF.

Education and Experience:

Education

  • Must obtain clinical privileges to practice as a Neurologist and maintain an active, valid, unrestricted license to practice in one of the 50 states in the United States.
  • Foreign Medical Graduates are required to provide both a medical license and certification by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. (ECFMG)
  • Must have a M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited university or medical school in the United States or Canada

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a practicing Neurologist

Certifications/Licensure

  • Certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS); no substitutes for American Heart Association certification will be allowed
  • Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
  • Must obtain a current National Practitioner Identifier (NPI)
