Offering Assistant Professorship with Tenure


The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Candidates eligible for this position are expected to demonstrate a clear trajectory in their program of research. It is essential that candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching and mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate levels (BS, MS, PhD), specifically in the application of Health Informatics and relevant evidence-based practice. Candidates applying for this senate faculty position are expected to be strong nurse researchers who are doctorally-prepared (e.g. PhD in nursing, DNSc, Informatics).

This position is instrumental in building the School’s new Health Informatics division where the candidate is expected to independently grow their program of research, as well as work in a team-based setting. The candidate will be part of the Health Informatics team and is expected to participate in the development of the Health Informatics academic program, including a Masters in Health Informatics. This position will also work on research and programmatic activities with nursing faculty, as well interdisciplinary collaboration across other academic disciplines.
Strong preference will be given to candidates who have an exemplary track record of federal funding as principal investigator. Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and will help prepare graduates for :

(a) Health informatics positions across the healthcare delivery system
(b) Faculty positions in academic institutions
(c) Clinically-relevant educational, administrative, and policy-making positions.

Applicants should possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates must also show evidence of collaborative interdisciplinary partnerships that will advance the science in health outcomes of individuals, families, and communities, and in teaching the next generation of nurses, educators, researchers, and innovators.
