We are a Cardiothoracic Surgery Group located in Beautiful Chattanooga, TN performing 500 Heart Surgeries Annually!

We are also a non-resident/fellow incorporated program, the cardiothoracic physician assistant would receive ample Operating Room Time and Surgical First Assist Duties. The candidate would also work with cardiac critically ill patients and some pre/post op cardaic care. Candidate would work with the full continuum of care of cardiac surgery patients. This is a salaried position, Monday-Friday, Full time with rotating call on nights and weekends. Only one weekend per month of work!

Candidate will perform first assist duties, assists with surgical procedures, conducts daily hospital rounds, write orders and progress notes, performs all admission history and physicials, orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic test, performs appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, evaluates and clarifies clinical conditions, Formulates and implements treatment and therapeutic plans for hospitalized patients, Handles discharge planning and dictates discharge summaries, Performs comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations, Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries, Orders and interprets laboratory and radiographic studies, Educates and counsels patients, Performs minor surgical procedures, Performs First Assist duties in surgery, Assist with On-call, Renders Emergency Call, Facilitates patient referral to the appropriate physician, Conducts Research and drug studies
