In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln our teams handle more than 550,000 outpatient visits, more than 144,000 emergency room visits and more than 22,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Weill Cornell Medical College.
Responsibilities:
Per diem opportunity available
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- First Assisting in the operating room
- Making daily rounds and writing progress notes
- Evaluating new patients as well as post-operative and routine follow up patients in clinic
- Perform admission history and physical examinations
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostics test and labs
- Developing a treatment plan for neurosurgical conditions within the scope of practice and in conjunction with neurosurgeon
- Pre and post-operative care
- Responding to consults both emergent and non-emergent
- Prescribing medications and other therapies
- Counseling patients and families regarding care
Qualifications:
- Physician Assistant certification/license
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant education program
- Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant
- Current Certification issued by the NCCPA
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently
