Physician Assistant (Neurosurgery) Opportunity in Arizona - Great Location!!

PA - Neurosurgical
Joining two Surgeons, 1 PA
Replacement position
Experience: Neurosurgery, neuroscience or critical care experience, spine and/or orthopedic experience PREFERRED, general surgery experience.
Personal Traits: Strong work ethic, professionalism, collaboration and cooperation, compassion, adaptable, committed, observant, open minded, self-motivated, empathetic
18-25 patients per day
M-F 8-5
On Call rotation coordination with physicians and physician assistant includes weekends and holidays

Hospital Duties and Responsibilities
· Performs first assistant duties
· Closes deep and superficial wounds
· Assists with neurosurgical procedures, including craniotomies, spinal procedures (including instrumentations) and microscopic procedures
· Conducts hospital rounds on a daily basis of all patients including intensive care units
· Writes orders and progress notes
· Orders admission history and physicals
· Orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests
· Evaluates and clarifies clinical conditions
· Formulates and implements treatment and therapeutic plans for hospitalized patients
· Handles discharge planning and dictates discharge summaries

Office duties/Responsibilities
· Sees all new office patients (as directed by physicians) and complete a thorough history and physical examination focused on problem-oriented neurosurgical conditions
· Presents the patient to attending neurosurgeons
· Helps to formulate treatment plan
· Orders appropriate radiographic studies
· Evaluate post-operative patients and does routine follow-up visits
· See patients requiring same day office visits
· Returns phone calls from patients
· Handles prescription refills
· Reviews radiographic reports and laboratory reports for abnormalities
· Reviews x-rays, MRI’s and CT scans of hospitalized patients and office patients with the attending neurosurgeon

The tri-city area has current population of approximately 100,000 and rapidly growing. City has four mild seasons and is 1.5 hours to Phoenix and a 4 hour drive to Las Vegas. This mountain area is beautiful with tall pines and gorgeous scenery.

It is a great place to raise a family, with many outdoor activities and excellent schools. There is little traffic and a low crime rate. City has 3 colleges!"
