In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi our teams accommodate more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi is renowned for The [Register to View] Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. The hospital also serves patients of many other needs. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College of Yeshiva University.

In partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx our teams handle more than 156,000 outpatient visits, more than 50,000 emergency room visits and more than 7,500 admissions annually in the 232-bed facility. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.

Responsibilities:

The Chier PA-Surgery will be responsible for the supervision of PA's in the following division or Surgery: General, Ambulatory, Vascular, Trauma, Breast, and ENT .

The Chief PA Surgery:

  • will participate in the development of goals end strategic direction for the PA service in conjunction with the medical director
  • will serve as a liaison between supervision attending and physician assistants This includes helping with scheduled clinical time, help with assignment sick calls and ensuring maintained expertise end competency in patient care
  • will train new employees lo comply with the department protocol end clinical skills
  • wlll oversee students who rotate through the department under the directions of the attending MD, and delegate student supervision as necessary
  • will have responsibility for the screening , interviewing and the hiring new staff applicants

Qualifications:

  • Master's and/or Bachelor's Degree
  • Physician Assistant Certification/license
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant education program
  • Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant
  • Current certification issued by the NCCPA
  • Must have proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be ACLS/BLS certified
  • 5 years experience
