Physician Assistant Corinth, TX (DFW area)

We are looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to join our practice full time in Corinth, TX. Our state-of-the-art office is in Corinth, which is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Our ideal candidate is a Physician Assistant who is compassionate, a team player yet someone who can work independently, and has experience working in a surgical environment. The position will require the PA to run clinic independently on Monday and Fridays, provide care in prep for surgery or post op care following surgery in the office, and assisting in the OR 3 days per week. The office has an adjoining surgical center that will be primary site of surgery so there is commute. Utilized hospitals are within a 10-mile radius and hospital rounds are extremely rare, usually limited to one morning a week. There is no emergency room call and hospital consults are extremely rare (<5 per year). After hours patient phone traffic is very light (<5 calls per week), and most issues can be deferred to AM.

Our patients can come to us for an accurate diagnosis, discussion and performance of non-invasive techniques, ambulatory outpatient surgery, and ongoing medication management. We have set a new standard in excellence and affordable surgical patient care. We treat a wide variety of thyroid, parathyroid and breast conditions. We have a dedicated team with a Medical Doctor, Physician Assistant and dedicated support staff.

Duties:

  • Patient Visits – performing history and physical exam, review pertinent documents/labs/imaging results (runs an independent clinic on Mondays and Fridays)
  • Gather clinical information and assess patients prior to and post procedures, preop preparation and follow up
  • Ordering Diagnostic tests and reviewing results
  • Perform neck ultrasound (which will be taught by the surgeon) for surveillance of established problems
  • Collaboration with the physician, intradisciplinary team members and staff as needed for comprehensive patient care
  • Managing all aspects of patient care in the outpatient clinic, including addressing patient calls, medication management, and assessment of patient symptoms
  • Patient education as to the diagnosis, pre and post procedure protocols, and answer any patient questions
  • Confirm written orders, consents, and lab work are completed and documented in accordance with facility policies prior to procedures
  • Assist in Surgery 3 days per week
  • Maintain competency with all operational procedures, and initiate emergency measures, as needed
  • Hospital rounds as needed
  • Documentation- timely and accurate
  • Complies with HIPPA policies and standards regarding patient information and medical records

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an Accredited Physician Assistant School
  • PA licensed to practice in TX
  • Experience in a Surgical Environment/First Assisting required

Schedule:

  • Clinic on Mondays and Fridays (8-5), Surgical Assist Tue/Wed/Thurs (7 am, surgery starts 7:30, leave at 5 pm)
  • Hospital rounds are extremely rare, usually limited to one morning a week
  • No emergency room call, and hospital consults are extremely rare (<5 per year)

Salary:

  • $125,000 plus bonus

Benefits:

  • Bonus: calculated quarterly (10% of any collections generated by the clinic and surgical assist above cost of employment. No maximum)
  • Vacation 3 weeks plus all major holidays
