Join a dynamic Cardiac Surgery Group with some of the top surgeons in the nation!

Candidate will work in the operating room, primarily first assisting, second assisting and performing procedures. Candidate will also be working pre operatively and post operatively, inpatient rounding, etc. This position will not incorporate clinic responsibilities, all OR and Inpatient.

All cases within cardiothoracic/vascular including coronary artery bypass, valve repair/replacement and aortic surgeries. We have the entire continuum of care and our PA’s in particular get to see the patients all the way through the process from pre-op to assisting in the operation to post-op.
They work Mon. – Fri., 7a – 3:30p or sometimes 6:30a – 3p depending on case for day. On call is every 3rd night and every 3rd weekend. NO clinical calls as we have 24/7 hospitalists to handle those, only call for surgery.

The Physician Assistant will join our Cardiothoracic Surgical team, working in 2 digitally integrated operating rooms. The Physician Assistant will assist the surgical team with all operations in the CVOR, including coronary artery bypass, minimally invasive valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery.

Current Maryland State License from the Board of Physician Assistants
Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants at time of hire or within one year of initial employment
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification preferred
Central Venous Catherization and Placement of Chest Tubes requires special Certification by Board of Physician Quality Assurance

Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
