JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to NP/PA Protocol, and within the scope of the NP/PA License in the State of Wisconsin.
Monday- Friday: 8am-5pm
Core Function: Outpatient pulmonary consults, and follow up visits
About 12-14 patients per day.
Support: Respiratory Therapist who conducts the Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT). PFT lab right in the department for easy access. 1 MA, and 1 RN support for the department.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Preferred/Optional: None
EXPERIENCE
Preferred/Optional: One to three years nursing experience in the Pulmonary specialty, NP/PA Pulmonary experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, and NP/PA Licensure. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
