e have a great opportunity available to make a difference for Wisconsin's residents. We're looking for a talented individual to fill our Psychiatrist position. Come join the Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Care & Treatment Services (DCTS), Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) for the Developmentally Disabled.

SWC is a state operated Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. SWC provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to assist and prepare individuals to live successfully in the setting that best meets their needs. Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Medical Director this Physician provides general Psychiatrist services to the clients of Southern Wisconsin Center. This includes providing psychiatric evaluation/consultations on a regular and emergency basis as requested by Medical and Psychology Services. This position also directs psychotropic medication reduction programs at SWC. In addition, this position will continue to improve the quality of psychiatric diagnostic classifications on the population at SWC and maintain the best available treatment for psychiatric disorders.
Special Notes:

Possession of a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin, plus a minimum of three (3) years in an approved residency in psychiatry. Board Certification in General Psychiatry is expected within three (3) years of hire. For specific information on licensing, contact the Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed will be required to allow DHS to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will possess:
- Licensure as a Physician in the State of Wisconsin
- Training in Child Psychiatry
- Training in Adult Psychiatry
- Knowledge of General/Internal Medicine
- Minimum of 3 years in an approved residency in psychiatry

Board Certification in General Psychiatry is expected within 3 years of hire.
