National Health Rehabilitation is an organization that provide acute level physiatry care in the sub-acute rehabilitation setting to maximize functional potential, reduce pain and optimize our patient's quality of life.
We are seeking to add an energetic PA or NP to join the PHYSIATRY/PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION consultation team. The Physiatry team will consult on geriatric patients in the inpatient nursing home setting. Physiatry focuses on patient’s functional limitations/barriers in therapy including but not limited to pain management, spasticity, decline in function etc. Supervising physician will provide clinical support and education.

Inpatient job description:
Consult on nursing home (short term and long term) patients with a multitude of limitations in function
Duties of practitioner will be to round on short term rehab patients twice a week, comprehensive documentation, construct a treatment protocol to optimize function and consider interventional pain mgt as needed.
Good history taking skills, proficient in note writing and exemplary interpersonal skills
Skills that can be taught by onsite Physiatrist:
Post-operative/orthopedic rehabilitation care
Post-neurological (brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury) rehabilitation care
Post-cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
Peripheral joint injections (knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, wrist, elbow) - will be trained
Pain Management (acute and chronic)
