Physician Assistant Waco, TX

We are looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to join our gastroenterology team full time in Waco, TX. We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable provider to care for our GI patients in our state-of-the-art clinic.

The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of medical theory, practices, and regulations to give and evaluate patient care and the ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. We are seeking a provider who is experienced, can provide effective treatments, can communicate clearly, and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

Our doctors and staff perform the latest diagnostic testing and employ the most modern techniques to treat our patients acute and chronic conditions. We provide the advanced care every patient deserves, and we appreciate the trust they place in us. We have a large team of MDs, midlevel providers, and supportive administrative staff. Duties:

  • GI care services in an outpatient, clinical setting
  • Assessing and managing GI conditions
  • Perform physical exams, obtain complete medical history, and record findings
  • Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
  • Interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan
  • Order/administer medication and injections as deemed medically necessary
  • Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments
  • Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention
  • Collaborates with physicians in managing acute medical needs of patients
  • Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information
  • Posts tests and examination results
  • Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation
  • Collaboration with other providers and supervisory physicians for comprehensive patient care

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an approved physician assistant program
  • Current Texas PA License
  • Ability to be credentialed with all payers including Medicare and Medicaid
  • Minimum of 3 years of PA experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required

Salary (range):

  • $110k per year (depending on experience)
